Downpatrick Race Course held its first race meeting in 1685 at the old grounds a few miles from where it is situated today just outside the historic town of Downpatrick where racing has been held for more than 150 years. As well as regular racing days, Downpatrick Racecourse offers three hospitality suites for hire for private events. 

The Brownlow Suite boasts elevated views over the winning line of the race course with a private balcony at the top of the grandstand and can facilitate up to 100 guests or be divided into smaller numbers. The Dunleath Suite can facilitate in excess of 350 guests while the intimate Byerley Turk Suite holds a maximum of
12 people.
