Echlinville Estate
Walking Trails

The estate takes its name from the Echlin family. Once among the most influential families in Ireland, the Echlins arrived in the Ards Peninsula in 1613. Now home to the Echlinville Distillery, a genuine farm distillery, all Echlinville’s new make spirit is distilled from barley grown, harvested and floor malted on their distillery farm near the shores of Strangford Lough.

The trails wind around the stunning Echlinville Manor House and through the barley fields with views of the beautiful stone bridge that crosses what was once the Echlinville Canal and Ireland’s oldest coral clad Folly – a stunning ornamental garden feature built in by the Echlin family in the eighteenth century as a statement of their wealth and status. Stop at the Distiller’s Rest Café and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and a sweet treat overlooking our barley fields.
